GRAVESEND SPORTS & THEATRE CAMP
Welcome to Gravesend Sports and Theater Camp. Our family operated camp
is dedicated to providing kids with an enjoyable, safe, and fun-filled summer
experience. Moving into our 13th year of business, we rely on the happiness of
our families to prove we are the BEST and MOST AFFORDABLE CAMP in
Brooklyn. We pride ourselves in getting to know each camper and their
needs throughout the summer months. Making lots of friends and fond
memories are one of our many goals every day. Our counselors are adult
professionals that are kind and nurturing in all they do. We also have a
wonderful junior staff that offer their talent and assist in all program areas. All
of our staff and counselors support and encourage good sportsmanship, self
confidence and build self esteem for campers of all ages. We have a zero
tolerance for any type of bullying or mistreatment of any of our camp family.
We teach kindness and respect amongst each other, and our staff. We offer
door to door private van transportation, as well as, before care and aftercare if
needed. All staff are trained in First Aid , CPR, Virtus, and ongoing staff
training. We are fully licensed by DOH.
Bergen Beach Sports and Recreation Camp:
In 2019 due to overwhelming requests, we were fortunate enough to expand
our wonderful camp to the Bergen Beach area. Bergen Beach Camp runs out
of the St. Bernard Academy located at 2030 East 69th street. Similar to our
Gravesend location, we offer a wide array of activities for boys and girls ages 3
½ through 15. Camp is divided into age groups, and has adult qualified staff in
each group. We are also fortunate to have a large outside play area for water
play, sprinkler time and outdoor games. Our adult staff and small group sizes
allow for a safer and more friendly environment . HAVING FUN, teaching kids
good sportsmanship and encouraging good social skills, along with making
lifetime friends and memories, are some of the many tributes we hold dear to
us. Before care and aftercare are also available contingent on need. We are
licensed by the DOH and follow strict guidelines.
PEEWEES
Our PeeWee Program is for 31/2 to 5 year old boys and girls. Small group settings allow for all our kids to bond and establish friendships that they usually continue all year round. Our 8 week program has a different theme each week. Parents will receive a weekly schedule letting them know what their child is doing all week. Trips are usually once per week (pre-covid) and we only go places that are contained to small groups. Our large backyard allows us to have outdoor water play, sprinkler time and many other outdoor activities. Children will enjoy music, dance, arts and crafts, gym time, sports, games, and many other fun-filled activities. There are 2 adult counselors for every 15 to 20 kids and 3 to 4 junior staff assisting in all activities. Our head staff have been with us for 8 years and continue to create a new, fun and exciting program yearly. .
Junior Program
Campers ages 6 are our Jazzy Juniors, 7 and 8 year olds are our Junior Adventurers. These groups like our PeeWees have a new theme every week. Activities are not only fun-filled but full of life lessons teaching kids good sportsmanship, kindness and self esteem. Parents will get a new schedule weekly informing them of the daily activities. Daily activities include outdoor play, water play, sprinkler time, games, arts and crafts, music, gym, sports, and many other fun-filled activities. Trips (pre-covid) were scheduled once weekly. We only venture out to local places that have small contained groups. Group size is between 15 and 20 per group. There are 2 adult counselors and 3 to 4 junior staff for all groups depending on the group size.
Sports Program
Ages 8 to 15 boys and girls. Steve Raimondi, our licensed gym teacher, has been with our program for 10 years bringing much fun and excitement through a variety of sports, games, and special events. Beginners are always welcome. Everyone learns the same skills. Last year we were fortunate to hire a new physical education teacher who brings lots of excitement to our sports program. Campers who choose this program will learn and enjoy a variety of sports and games. Basketball, baseball, flag football, gatorball, volleyball, and many other sports will be included in our day to day activities. Through our programs we teach many skills, good sportsmanship, and encourage kindness in all we do.
Theater/Recreation Program
We welcome all girls and boys ages 7 to 15. Our Theater/Recreation Program is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable environment for all campers who like to explore the arts. Our program includes theater group, dance, cheerleading, drama, arts and crafts, music, sports, trips, games, outside water games and many other fun-filled activities. Our campers learn about theater arts, while building confidence, self esteem, and independence, all while making new friends and establishing forever memories. We promote good sportsmanship and social skills through all of our group activities. Exploring the creative talents of all our children through fun-structured activities is always an awesome experience.
